In later 2008, with direction from the city’s goal setting facilitator Lyle Sumek and the City Manager, city staff began the development of a core business matrix for the City of Ankeny. In February 2009 the first draft of the core business matrix was presented to the City Council during the FY 2010 Budget Retreat. The goal behind developing this document was to prepare the city for service-related decisions that may be needed as a part of the FY 2011 Budget development process. In preparation for the FY 2012 Budget development process the Matrix has been updated to reflect the FY 2011 Adopted Budget.
