Don't miss out on SummerFest tournaments at Hawkeye Park

ANKENY, Iowa (June 21, 2012) - A weekend of recreational opportunities will be part of this year’s Ankeny Summerfest. Participants can enjoy the great atmosphere at Hawkeye Park while participating in two annual tournments - Bags and Sand Volleyball. Participants must be 18 years old; adults 21 and over will be given a wrist band after being ID’d.

Bags Tournament
Crown yourself kings or queens in the Fourth Annual Summerfest Bags Tournament on Saturday, July 14, starting at 8:30 a.m. More than 50 teams competed in last year’s tournament and we hope to keep the event growing. This is a double elimination tournament and teams of two will race (score) to 21. Men, women and coed teams will compete in the same tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams! The registration deadline is July 9 and the fee is $20 per team. Online registration is available.

 SummerFest Sand Volleyball
Sand Volleyball Tournament

Have fun in the sun during the Fifth Annual Summerfest 6x6 Coed Sand Volleyball Tournament, also on Saturday, July 14. Teams will start at 8:30 a.m. and are guaranteed two games. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams! Team fee is $60 and registration deadline is July 9. Limited space is available; online registration is available.

Hawkeye Park
Socialize and enjoy the patio area, concessions and adult beverages throughout these tournaments and the summer. Hawkeye Park is located at 400 NW Lakeshore Drive, however the sand volleyball and concession area can be accessed on the north side of Wagner Park and City Hall. Please note: No adult beverages are allowed to be brought into Hawkeye Park.
