Catch the spirit at Baton Spirit Camp

ANKENY, Iowa (Aug. 16, 2012) - The Parks and Recreation Department invites children in first through fifth grade to join instructor Shelley Rouse at the Baton Spirit Camp. The Spirit Camp will introduce students to basic hand spins, wrist twirls, tosses and more.
Classes will be held on Sundays from 4-5 p.m. starting September 9 and running through October 7. All classes will be held at Northwest Elementary, located at 1202 West 1st Street.
Fee is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents. Registration is available online or at the Parks and Recreation office, 210 South Ankeny Blvd. Deadline to register is August 29.
Each participant must bring their own baton and wear tennis shoes to practice. New batons are available for $18; if you are interested in purchasing a baton, email Shelley Rouse.
