Dance and tap classes offered for tots ages three to five

ANKENY, Iowa (May 24, 2012) - Learn the basics of dance in Toe Tappers or Twinkle Toes this summer. Both programs will be offered by the Ankeny Parks & Recreation Department. Girls and boys three to five years of age can participate. Participants must be of the required age before the program begins.
Toe Tappers
Toe Tappers will teach basic tap footwork and rhythm. Music will be incorporated as your child performs large motor skill movements. Tap shoes are required. The three year old class is held from 5:30-6 p.m. and the four and five year old class is from 6:15-7 p.m. Classes are held on Mondays from June 18 through July 23 at the Outdoor Education Center, 610 NE 36th Street. The registration deadline is June 4.
 Twinkle Toes
Twinkle Toes teaches youngsters the basics of dance in a fun and exciting way. Soft shoes or tennis shoes are required. Classes are 30 minutes long for three year olds and are offered at 5:15 p.m. or 6 p.m. The four and five year olds will meet for 45 minutes from 6:45–7:30 p.m. Classes are held on Wednesdays from June 13 through August 1 at the Lakeside Center, 400 NW Lakeshore Drive. The registration fee for the three year old classes is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. The fee for the four and five year old classes is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents. There will be no class on July 4 and 11. Registration deadline is May 30.
