On Saturday April 28th at  a.m. surveillance video shows a vehicle drive by the Ankeny Police Department building and fire multiple rounds from the moving vehicle at the front of the building. At least two rounds hit the building and caused damage to windows on the front of the building.

Shortly after the shooting Martin was listed as a possible suspect in the case due to his involvement in a criminal investigation around the same time. Martin also had access to a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle captured on a surveillance camera near the police building. During the course of the investigation detectives interviewed numerous people and located a handgun Martin had in his possession at the time of the shooting. The handgun was sent to the Department of Criminal Investigation lab in Ankeny for comparison to shell casings found on the road in front of the police building and bullets found on the lobby floor of the building. The DCI lab confirmed the shell casing found at the scene was fired from the handgun Martin had been in possession of at the time of the shooting.

No additional information will be released at this time. A criminal charge is an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
